Manufacturing Test Engineering Manager
About the role
As Manager leading the Manufacturing Test Engineering (TE) organization you play a key role in shaping the future of our manufacturing test capabilities. You are responsible for developing and re-shaping our TE function to align with future R&D, and manufacturing needs. You will drive technical excellence, organizational capability, and process transformation. In parallel you will ensure robust, scalable and data-driven manufacturing test solutions. You will act as the central authority for R&D sites in Drammen and Bern, and work in close alignment with factories and the TE function in Taiwan to enable seamless collaboration between R&D and the factories.
The role will be reporting to Head of R&D.
Main responsibilities
Lead, develop, and strengthen a high-performing Manufacturing Test Engineering team, fostering technical excellence, collaboration, and continuous learning.
Define, adapt and own manufacturing test concepts, specifications, and test systems (hardware and software). Align activities with design teams, factories and other TE teams.
Own the full lifecycle of test specification, including identification of valuable data, data quality, and continuous improvement in test specification and tools.
Establish clear roles, responsibilities and interfaces between TE, R&D and factories, ensuring strong alignment.
Lead the transition to be aligned with Delta organization.
Monitor manufacturing test performance, identify improvement opportunities, and proactively address quality and yield challenges through data-driven insights.
Support factory during test setup commissioning and validation to ensure reliable production operation.
Support factories in operating existing test systems and transferring operational responsibilities.
Team management
Business travel to different sites on regular basis
Required professional qualifications and skills
5+ years of experience in Manufacturing Test Engineering, preferably in electronics or high-volume production environments.
Experience in leading and transforming engineering teams, including organizational restructuring and capability building.
Used to working closely with factories, contract manufacturers, and cross-functional R&D teams.
Demonstrated technical expertise in manufacturing test engineering, including hands-on experience with test equipment specifications and industry-standard tools such as Chroma 8000 and NI TestStand.
General electrical (AC) and electronics understanding.
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electronics/Elecrical engineering and/or other relevant education within production, manufacturing or industrial engineering.
Training/education in Manufacturing Engineering or Production Technology.
Fluent in both written and spoken English, and preferably also fluent in Norwegian (or, at a minimum, able to communicate in Norwegian in informal settings).

You are an outgoing people’s person with strong stakeholder management skills. You are self-driven, structured, and got a strategic mindset combined with the ability to dive into technical and operational issues and to connect long-term vision with hands on delivery. You thrive in global, matrixed environments and got excellent cross cultural communication skills.
