The R&D department develops market-leading rectifiers and inverters for large international customers around the globe.
About the role
The Test Development Department within R&D/Industrialization is looking for a Manufacture Test Engineer to play a key role in ensuring that our manufacturing process produces the product correctly and consistently.
In this role, you will take a key position in shaping how world-class power electronics are tested in mass production. You will define cutting-edge manufacturing test methods, develop innovative test concepts, and build robust test programs and automated test systems (ATS) that ensure consistent, high-quality production at scale.
Working closely with our product design team, you shape test requirements, ensure high test coverage, and influence product design for optimal testability, from the start.
You’ll also collaborate with skilled test engineers across Taiwan (HQ), Thailand, and China, providing clear documentation and hands-on support to our factories. Throughout the product lifecycle, you take ownership of continuously improving test specifications and programs.
You will be reporting to the R&D Test Development Manager.
Your responsibilities
Develop and define the test concept and test flow in alignment with product design, customers, production and HQ (Taiwan). Specify machine instrumentation and configuration in accordance with the established test concept.
Develop adapter boards and test fixtures to interface with the device under test. Work together with mechanical engineer (ME) and fixture supplier to ensure good connectivity and safe operation.
Creating, debugging, and optimizing test code to execute test sequences. Provide hands on and on-site factory support, troubleshooting test equipment, fixtures, and software issues to maintain production uptime.
Analyze measurement data and test reports for troubleshooting, test optimization, equipment validation etc.
Create test specifications in cooperation with product designers. Create and maintain technical documentation including wiring diagrams, BOMs, maintenance guidelines etc.
Transfer documentation, and support factory in design of test equipment for high volume production.
Your qualifications
Bachelor`s or master’s degree in Electronics Engineering or Electrical Engineering is required.
Experience with test development and/or manufacturing of electronics.
Understanding of electronic circuits, PCB design principles and measurement techniques.
Proficiency in test software (e.g. Chroma 8000, NI LabVIEW, Phyton, C#, NI TestStand).
Knowledge of Design for Test (DfT)/Manufacturing testing principles.
Understanding of analyzing test data, troubleshooting failures, and performing structured root cause analysis.
Good documentation skills and the ability to support and cooperate with others.
Project management skills
Fluent in Norwegian and English language, written and oral (mandatory).
